In the Bible we find a few different characters who strayed away from the Lord and God gave them all another chance. So if you need a second chance in life, if you’ve strayed away from the Lord and need to rededicate your life to Him, please continue reading. God has not brought you this far to forsake you. God is the God of the second chance. The following steps will help you to recommit your life to Jesus Christ.
KNOW that God loves you and will accept you back.
Notice what Jesus response to Jesus was in our story Luke 22:61-62 "And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, ‘Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.' So Peter went out and wept bitterly." I am quite sure Jesus' look was not of angry scorn, but that of compassion and love. The kind look that Jesus gave Peter broke his heart as he realized what he had done.
ADMIT your need.
You must realize your unfortunate condition away from God. The Prodigal son had told his father he wanted his inheritance early and he left his father’s house to live life on the wild side – to party-hearty – only to realize once his money ran out so did his friends. Broke and lonely, the Bible says he "came to his senses,"Luke 15:17. And he made a decision to head back home. Are you ready to make that decision today?
