We congratulate you on your newfound relationship with God. It will be a commitment you will never regret. Just as a newborn child is born into this world so you are a newborn Christian born into God’s family. The next step for your life is to grow just as a newborn infant would. As a new believer the Bible gives four specific activities that will start you off in your new walk with God. These are found in Acts 2:42. It’s what the first Christians did when they too started to follow Jesus. It states,
'And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.’ Acts 2:42
Just remember as you begin to grow in the Lord you must not depend upon feelings to give you the assurance that you are now saved. Some new believers feel God’s glory and some feel nothing. What matters is that now you live by faith, which accepts the Bible as your new authority in life, not your feelings. Your feelings will trick you into believing something that isn’t true. We place our faith in the facts of God’s word and let the feelings follow.
